When the seasons change, you feel really cold, which is a sign of your body that cannot be ignored. There is an ancient saying that "cold is the source of all diseases."
When the body becomes cold and blood flow becomes poor, not only is it difficult for the nutrients necessary for the human body to reach every corner of the body, but even if foreign matter is found in the body, it is difficult for white blood cells to collect and quickly eliminate them, causing infections such as viruses, and it is easy to get sick if they are lost to bacteria.
I will introduce the actions to take when you feel cold, please refer to it if you like.
- Lower Body Exercises
To raise your body temperature, a quick way to do it is to work the largest muscle in your body - the muscles in the front of your thigh (quadriceps). Squats are the most recommended exercise to wake up and improve blood circulation .
- Open your legs about shoulder width apart
- Point your toes slightly outward
- Stretching poses
- Inhale and lower your legs until they are parallel to the ground
- Exhale and return to the starting position
- Repeat the up and down movement 15-20 times
Note: Squats are an exercise that puts pressure on the knees. If you have any concerns about your knees, don't do it .
2. Muscle-building diet
Protein is the most important thing for building muscle. If possible, it is best to have protein-rich foods at every meal, such as the following: chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, eggs.
Collagen, calcium, and vitamin D are also important for strengthening bones and tendons that support muscles. Carbohydrates contained in rice, bread, noodles, mochi, potatoes, etc. are also important sources of energy, so calories are a problem, but they need to be consumed in moderation to prevent muscle loss.
3. Release the pressure
Blood flow to peripheral areas such as the limbs is regulated by the action of the autonomic nervous system, so when the sympathetic nerves become tense due to stress, peripheral blood vessels constrict and blood circulation deteriorates. If your hands and feet don't warm up easily, it may be that your autonomic nervous system is dysfunctional and your blood flow is irregular.
Autonomic nervous system disturbances are a common symptom, especially in women. Unlike in the past, more women are working outside the home, and the pressure of balancing housework and childcare is high. I know you don’t have a lot of time to yourself, but here are some ways to help you relax.
- Cry to the extreme while watching a movie or TV series.
- Massage your head while bathing to move your scalp and promote blood circulation.
4. Wear a belly band or leg warmers
Belly bands or leg warmers are effective at raising your entire body temperature by warming organs in the center of your body. Additionally, the calves play an important role as pumps that improve blood and lymph flow, so regularly warming them with leg warmers will hopefully improve the “coldness.”
