How to wash and care for cold-repellent socks [Detailed version]

It does take some time to wash and care for my socks every time. The ideal method is of course to wash them by hand, but I want to take it easy, so I put them in the washing machine. This is a question many customers ask. Let me share my experience in washing and caring for socks.

- Machine wash

Sort the cold-resistant clothes into laundry bags. I divide them into three bags: silk, cotton, and wool. Then wash with water below 30 degrees, at the slowest speed and in wool mode. It is better to use laundry detergent than powder because it prevents particles from accumulating in the fibers and becoming hard.

Dry

After washing, loosen the socks and restore them to their original shape. Silk socks should be dried in a cool place, away from sunlight, because silk will become hard in the sun. I personally dry cotton and wool in the shade with the opening facing upwards.

Hand wash

Use water below 30 degrees, add mild laundry detergent, and gently rub the socks about 20 times. Do not rub or twist. Then rinse with clean water twice and dry with a towel. Shape the socks and dry them in the shade with the opening facing up.

Washing times

If your feet don't sweat much, or you only wear them when sleeping, you can basically wash them every two to three days, or you can just wash the first layer. If you have a lot of foot sweat or your socks feel a little damp, you should wash and replace them.

Good washing and care methods can make high-quality socks more durable and comfortable. A set of socks that are well cared for can be worn for more than a year.
